A: No. You can have an independent do your maintenance, or your neighbor,
yourself, or anyone else you want, and you can use any brand of lubricants and
filters. This is spelled out in Federal Warranty Law, specifically the Magnuson-
Moss Warranty Act of 1975. Don't let any dealership tell you otherwise.
Q: Does regularly changing my oil filter help with the life of my engine?
A: Yes. An oil filter helps ensure your engine is lubricated with clean oil, which is
important for optimal engine performance. Both your vehicle’s oil and oil filter
should be changed at least as often as recommended by your Owner’s Manual.
Q: Can I switch brands of oil between oil changes?
A. As long as the motor oil meets the viscosity grade and engine oil specification
listed in your owner’s manual, switching motor oil will not be a problem. In fact,
we recommend chatting with your technician to see if we have a motor oil that
offers better performance than what you’re currently using! And yes, you can
easily switch back-and-forth between synthetic and conventional motor oils!
Q: Can I change my own oil?

messy. A non-professional performing the service increases the risk of a
